Year of Establishment of the Department. 2000

Punjabi University Regional Centre for Information Technology and Management (PURCITM) was established in September 2000 at Mohali and now the Centre has been renamed as Punjabi University Centre for Emerging and Innovative Technology, Mohali. The Centre was set up with an aim to provide quality education in the field of Computer Application and Management in order to meet the growing needs of the business and industry. The Centre boasts of having its alumni working in top IT Companies like TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra Limited, Emerson, Accenture, Newgen to name a few. The Centre is located in Sector 61 (Phase 7 - Residential Area), Mohali which is contiguous with Chandigarh. Catering to the needs of the Industry, many new courses related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science has been started in the Centre.

The Centre has a highly qualified and competent faculty in the field of Management and Information Technology. Also lending support from industry are several senior managerial cadre professionals who frequently interact with the students by way of Seminars or teach them course material as Guest faculty. All our courses combine theory and practice. A combination of conventional pedagogies and experimental teaching methodology is brought into force using case analysis, field studies, seminars, simulations, independent team based work, group discussions and live research projects.

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਰਿਜ਼ਨਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਇੰਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜ਼ਮੈਂਟ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜ਼ਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ ਦਰਜ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2000 ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜ਼ਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਵਲ ਦਰਜ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਸੈਂਟਰ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਏਰੀਆ ਫੇਜ਼ 7 (ਰਿਹਾਇਸੀ ਏਰੀਆ) ਵਿਖੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਬੱਸ ਸਟੈਡ ਤੋਂ 4 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ 'ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਥਾ ਕੋਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਾਜੋਸਮਾਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਐਡਵਾਂਸ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਲਾਵਾਂ, ਆਡੀਓਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਕਲਾਸ ਰੂਮਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਲਈ ਲੀਜ਼ ਲਾਈਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ, ਹਰੇਭਰੇ ਘਾਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਉਪਲੱਭਧ ਹੈ। ਸੈਂਟਰ ਕੋਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਰਸਿਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ 21,150 ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, 21 ਵੱਖਵੱਖ ਅਖਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ 34 ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਉਪਲੱਭਧ ਹਨ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੁਲਤ ਲਈ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9 ਤੋਂ 7 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਖੁੱਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Infrastructure Facilities

The building housing the Centre is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The Centre is equipped with two advanced computer labs with latest configuration computers and other state of the art facilities, audio-visual aids in fully air-conditional smart classrooms and 15 Mbps leased line service for internet connectivity. The Centre has a rich collection of books and has subscription to several reputed National and International Journals in its library including relevant magazines. It has a collection of 21,150 books, 21 newspapers, 34 magazines and a good collection of journals in its library.
