ਕਾਲਜ ਕੋਲ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ, ਹਵਾਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸਿ਼ਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਗਭਗ 7500 ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਹੈ। ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਛਪਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਣ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ।
ਕੌਮੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਯੋਜਨਾ (NSS)
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਘਨੌਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਕਾਰਜਸ਼ੀਲ ਹਨ। ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਵਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਅਤੇ ਛੇ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਬਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਟੂਰ ਵੀ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ.
ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਯੂਨਿਟਾਂ ਹਨ — ਆਰਮੀ ਵਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਏਅਰ ਵਿੰਗ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਕੈਡਟ ਨਿਯਮਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ, ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕੈਂਪ, ਟ੍ਰੈੱਕਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪ, ਥਲ ਸੈਨਾ ਕੈਂਪ, ਆਰਮੀ ਅਟੈਚਮੈਂਟ ਕੈਂਪ, ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਅਤੇ ਗਣਤੰਤਰ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਪਰੇਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਖੇਡ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ
ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚ ਖੋ-ਖੋ, ਅਤੇ ਰੈਸਲਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਵਿੰਗ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਹਨ। ਇੰਨਡੋਰ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਟ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 400 ਮੀਟਰ ਦਾ ਟਰੈਕ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਹਨ । ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਕਬੱਡੀ, ਜੂਡੇ. ਫੁੱਟਬਾਲ ਆਦਿ ਖੇਡ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਕਾਲਜ, ਅੰਤਰਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਖੇਲੋ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਫੀਸ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ, ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮਦਦ, ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਕਲਰ, ਰੋਲ ਆਫ਼ ਆਨਰ ਆਦਿ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। /
ਕਰੀਅਰ ਗਾਈਡੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ
ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਇਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕੜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੈੱਲ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਮੇਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮੀਂ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ। ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਸਨੈਲਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਵੈਲਪ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਲਈ ਨਿਯਮਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ, ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਯੁਵਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਲੱਬ
ਇਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਛੁਪੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਲਾ—ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਚਿਤ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਅਵਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾਖੋਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ, ਗੀਤ, ਕਵਿਤਾ, ਮੋਨੋਐਕਟਿੰਗ, ਭਾਸ਼ਣ, ਡਿਬੇਟ, ਸਕਿੱਟ, ਡਰਾਮਾ, ਗਿੱਧਾ, ਭੰਗੜਾ, ਚਿੱਤਰ—ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ—ਕਲਾਵਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਵੰਨਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪੱਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰ—ਕਾਲਜ ਜਾਂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ, ਦੂਰ—ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇ ਰਮਣੀਕ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੂਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਆਦਿ ਇਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ—ਸਹਿਣ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
Facilities and Infrastructure
Library
The college has a state-of-the-art automated library where students can have access to 7500 publications ranging from books to journals. A separate section is dedicated to magazines, newspapers and periodicals. Reading hall of the library has the capacity to accommodate around 200 students. Prizes and gifts are regularly given to the students to cultivate reading habit among them.
NSS
The NSS, a voluntary association of young people, aims to develop students’ personality through social service. The college is proud to have three units of NSS. The one day and seven-day camps are regularly organized in the college and in the vicinity of the college to sensitize students on various issues of social, political and economic importance. Blood Donation camps, door-to-door social awareness camps and the cleanliness drives are the flagship programs of NSS.
NCC
The college has two units of NCC: Army wing and Air wing. Cadets of the college regularly participate in Annual Training Camps, National Camp, Tracking Camp, Thal Sena Camp, Army Attachment Camps, Shooting Competition and annual parade on Independence Day and Republic Day.
Sports
Punjab Government has established sports wing for Kho-Kho and Wrestling in the college. These games are played on mats in indoor stadium. Born and brought up in the fields of rural Punjab and Haryana, the college students have an innate enthusiasm for games. Therefore, the sports department of the college prepares and encourages students to participate in Inter-college events and tournaments in the games like Judo, Football, Athletics, Kabaddi. An Annual Athletic Meet is a special yearly event organized by the department.
Youth Welfare Wing
The "Youth Welfare Wing" of the college strives to polish the artistic and the intellectual skills of the students to ensure their holistic development. It encourages and motivates students to participate in an array of co- curricular and extra- curricular activities by identifying their potential and by nurturing the talent in them. Since its inception, the college has found a firm foothold in the youth festivals by participating enormously in theatre, music, fine arts and literary events. The college has not only been giving tough competition to other established institutes of the university but has rather bagged top positions.
Career Guidance and Placement Cell
The placement cell of the college acts as a vital interface between the students and their prospective professional platforms. By organising job fests and meetings with the industry personnel, the cell is offering opportunities for direct placements of the college students in the industry by arranging interviews for various jobs. Many students got jobs in reputed banks and other companies. Placement cell regularly organises workshops, training programmes and seminars for the personality development and interview preparation of the students.
