An Introduction

The foundation stone of University College, Chunni Kalan was laid down by the village panchayat in the area of 14 acres on 27 February, 2010. The words encrypted on the stone describes that the punjab government arranges 8 Crore for the building of the college. In Punjab, there are near about 15 constituent colleges. From these 15 colleges, Punjabi University, Patiala is managing 10 colleges. The local students, take this college as a boon. Under the 11th five year plan of Government of India, Punjab Government established model degree colleges in educationally backward areas. This plan was developed by UGC. Punjabi University, Patiala established its constituent college at Chunni Kalan, Fatehgarh Sahib. For the overall development of the students, college started its first academic session in 2011.

University College, Chunni Kalan is spread over an area of 14 acre. There are 3 blocks-Science, cum-administrative block, Humanities block & IT block with ventilated rooms. There are full fledged physics & chemistry labs, two computer labs with 35 computers.

There is a large seminar hall, which is used for academic & cultural activities. Playgrounds are made according to the campus planing. Under the supervision of the teachers, various games are organised for the students. Books, newspapers, academic magazines and other general knowledge material is available for the students.

At the present time, privatization and commercialization of education has made it unapproachable for poor people. University College, Chunni Kalan, provides cheap and quality education to the students. The fee structure of various courses is very nominal, So that poor students could attain education and full fill their dreams.

ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਚੁੰਨੀ ਕਲਾਂ (ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਜਾਣ—ਪਛਾਣ

27 ਫਰਵਰੀ, 2010 ਨੂੰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਚੁੰਨੀ ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਇਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ 14 ਏਕੜ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਪਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ *ਤੇ ਉਕੇਰੇ ਗਏ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ 8 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਗਭਗ 12 ਕਾਲਜ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 10 ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ 11 ਵੀਂ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲਾ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ,ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਪੱਛੜੇ ਜਿਲਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਡਲ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਯੂ.ਜੀ.ਸੀ. ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਚੁੰਨੀ ਕਲਾਂ, ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਸਟੀਚੁਏਂਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੇ ਮੰਤਵ ਨਾਲ, ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2011 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਚੁੰਨੀ ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੈਂਪਸ 14 ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਵਿਸਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾਇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਬਲਾਕ—ਸਾਇੰਸ—ਕਮ—ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਬਲਾਕ, ਹਿਊਮੈਨਟੀਜ਼ ਬਲਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਈ.ਟੀ. ਬਲਾਕ—ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਦਾਰ ਕਮਰਿਆ ਸਹਿਤ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗ ਸਾਜੋ—ਸਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਮਿਸਟਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਹਨ।35 ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਸੱਜਿਤ ਦੋ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਹਾਲ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ।ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਦਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਧੀਨ ਖੇਡ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰਾਂ, ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਰਸਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਵਤਾ ਪੂਰਣ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਅਕਤਿਤਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੀਆ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਹਨ।

ਅਜੋਕੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਕਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀਕਰਣ ਨੇ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਚੁੰਨੀ ਕਲਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਸਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਤਮਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਫੀਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵਾਜਬ ਅਤੇ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੌਰ *ਤੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ।

Incharge's Message

Attaining Higher Education, has become not only high priced in the scenario of Globalisation and commercialisation, but it also lost its valuable standards. Keeping this in mind, constituent colleges affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala in rural areas has lowerd down the economic burden of poverty stricken community.

University College, Chunni Kalan has become a boon for the literacy of Girls & also to maintain its set standards. Away from hussle bussle green lush area & Pollution free clean environment of University college, Chunni Kalan, gives you a view of a Shanti Niketan.

For the overall development of the students, college organises curricular and co-curricular activities. Students secured various positions in Zonal & Inter-Zonal competitions.

On 26th January, 2017 Harbans Singh of class B.A. participated in Republic Day parade, at New Delhi. College organises workshops, seminar, quiz, power point presentations, movie making, debate etc. for the academic developments of the students. The faculty of Social Sciences organises national seminar every year & the punjabi department organises national seminar, world language day, kavi darbar, symposium & introduction to famous writer.

Various committees are been set up for curricular and co-curricular activities.

So, participation of the students in academic, literary, musical & cultural activities plays an important role in their personality development. ਵਿਸ਼ਵੀਕਰਣ ਦੇ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਕਰਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਿਆਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਵੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਕੰਸਟੀਚੁਏਂਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਘੱਟ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਬੋਝ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹਨ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਬਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਪਾਠ—ਕ੍ਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਪਾਠ—ਕ੍ਰਮ ਕਿਰਿਆਵਾਂ/ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹੀ ਵਜ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਜੋਨਲ, ਅੰਤਰ—ਜੋਨਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰੀਆ ਹਨ।

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਿਪਬਲਿਕ ਡੇਅ ਪਰੇਡ (26 ਜਨਵਰੀ, 2017) ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ, ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ, ਕੁਇਜ਼, ਪਾਵਰ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਪ੍ਰੈਜੈਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਮੂਵੀ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ, ਡੀਬੇਟ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਥੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਿਵਸ, ਕਵੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਗੋਸ਼ਟੀ, ਸਿਮਪੋਜ਼ੀਅਮ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਲੇਖਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੂ—ਬ—ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਰੂਪ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ—ਵੱਖ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਸਾਹਿਤਿਕ, ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਪੱਛੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਉਚੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਇਹ ਕਾਲਜ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਸਦਕਾ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਸਾਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਵੱਸਥ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਰਹੇਗਾ।ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ, ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਸਹਿਤ।
