Department History

Year of Establishment of the Department. 2000

Punjabi University Regional Centre for Information Technology and Management (PURCITM) was established in September 2000 at Mohali and now the Centre has been renamed as Punjabi University Centre for Emerging and Innovative Technology, Mohali(PUCEITM) in March 2023.The Centre is located in Sector 61 (Phase 7 - Residential Area), Mohali which is contiguous with Chandigarh. The Centre was set up with an aim to provide quality education in the field of Computer Application. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the Department has produced quality professionals holding important positions in the IT industry in India and abroad.

The Centre has a highly qualified and competent Staff and to cater to the advancements in computer technology many new courses related to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science have been started in the Centre.

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਇਮਰਜਿੰਗ ਐਂਡ ਇੰਨੋਵੇਟਿਵ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਵੈਬਪੇਜ਼ 'ਤੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਹੈ।

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਇਨਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਐਂਡ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ (PURCITM) ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2000 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਐਮਰਜਿੰਗ ਐਂਡ ਇਨੋਵੇਟਿਵ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ (PUCEITM) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸੈਕਟਰ 61 (ਫੇਜ਼ 7 - ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਇਲਾਕਾ), ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਜੋ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੈਂਟਰ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਨਤਾ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਲੋੜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈਟੀ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਕੋਲ ਉੱਚ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਬਲ ਸਟਾਫ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਟਾ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਕੋਰਸ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Infrastructure Facilities

The building housing the Centre is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The Centre is equipped with two advanced computer labs with latest configuration computers and other state of the art facilities, audio-visual aids in fully air-conditional smart classrooms and 15 Mbps leased line service for internet connectivity. The Centre has a rich collection of books and has subscription to several reputed National and International Journals in its library including relevant magazines. It has a collection of 21,150 books, 21 newspapers, 34 magazines and a good collection of journals in its library.

ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਗੀਚਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸੰਰਚਨਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਤਿ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਦੋ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਲੈਬਾਂ, ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਏਅਰ-ਕੰਡੀਸ਼ਨ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਡੀਓ-ਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲ ਏਡਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਕਨੈਕਟੀਵਿਟੀ ਲਈ 15 Mbps ਲੀਜ਼ਡ ਲਾਈਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੈ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਨਾਮਵਰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਾਹਕੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੀ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ 21,150 ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, 21 ਅਖਬਾਰਾਂ, 34 ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹੈ।
